Every Child. Every Day. College Bound.
A Diverse Community of Learners and Leaders
Mission Statement
The mission of Brighter Choice is to create a safe and healthy learning environment that nurtures, motivates and challenges students to meet and exceed state standards. Our goal is to prepare students to succeed in middle, high school and ultimately college.
Brighter Choice Community School has District 16’s only Pre-K Spanish through 3rd Grade Spanish Dual Language Program. Each year Brighter Choice Community School expands its dual language program. It is our goal to produce generations of bi-literate, bicultural, and bilingual scholars.
BCCS subscribes to the dynamic Project-based learning. Students explore real-world problems and challenges. With this type of active and engaged learning, students are inspired to obtain a deeper knowledge of the subjects they're studying.
BCCS subscribes to STEAM & Project-Based learning approaches. STEAM is Science and Technology interpreted through, Engineering and the Arts, all based in Mathematical elements. We have found that this curriculum teaches students how all things relate to each other, in school and in life.
Founding Principal, Fabayo McIntosh-Gordon
Words cannot express how fortunate I am to lead such a dynamic group of students, faculty, and parents. I am proud to say that we take pride in preparing our young leaders to be creative critical thinkers that will contribute positively to the world at large. Additionally, the eagerness and dedication from so many of our families, to bring resources and opportunities to our students makes me beam with joy! I appreciate the energy and effort that students and families give daily to ensure our students reach their full potential.
Asst. Principal, LaTrace Finney
I love BCCS for so many reasons. From my transition as a teacher to Assistant Principal, I've had the best memories impacting student lives for the last nine years. I can't wait to see what the future has to offer! BCCS is my home away from home!!
Parent Coordinator, Deittra Wilder
We love BCCS because of its commitment to the whole student across a variety of subjects, interests, and enrichments. We love BCCS' sense of pride, diversity, uniqueness, and confidence it fosters in each student. To be apart of the BCCS family is to love every student as if they are your own.

Guidance Counselor, Deardra Zahara Duncan
As the School Guidance Counselor, and founding member of the BCCS community, my mission is to provide students with the safe place to speak, explore, understand, express and grow without judgement, fear or doubt of being heard, respected and represented. As I nurtured my own children with honor, pride and love, so too for my BCCS family. One love, love ALL!
